UK NATIONWIDE APPEAL FOR A CLASS ACTION SUIT AGAINST A SELECTED PARTNERSHIP NHS TRUST EMPLOYING MEDICAL MODEL PSYCHIATRISTS

There have been many campaigns for choice and more compassionate approaches to mental health yet little has changed in the psychiatric system. This report may, however, prove ground-breaking, in that it sets out to note and challenge the many harms perpetrated by medical psychiatry, leading into the taking of legal class action against a selected mental health trust.

“Strategic litigation” was identified by Jim Gottstein as one of the three corners of his “Transformation Triangle” of change (the other ‘corners’ being ‘public attitudes’ and ‘other choices.’) This proposed action promises to occupy at last one critical element needed for the transformation we are hoping and striving for..
